At Joyosa's Near Benidorm Valor Chocolate Factory
Posted by spainlover on 14th July 2010, 07:16pm

In a nearby town called Joyosa there is a celebrated cottage industry, known at the Valor Chocolate Factory. It was interesting and smelled wonderful. There was admission fee of 14.90 € per adult and 8.90 € per child.
It was worth it because they gave using a take away package with samples. We also got to sample as we toured. After that experience we tool our time walking into town where for 18 € we boarded the train into traditional looking Villa Joyous.

Great Weather - But a Bit Hot for Shopping in Benidorm
Posted by spainlover on 8th July 2010, 08:11pm

My wife and daughter had a wonderful shopping-tat in Benidorm. With the very hot weather in Benidorm , we had a little bit a hard time.
( Mum if you get jealous you can see the current temperature here: http://www.alicante-spain.com/benidorm-weather.html )
Most local shops appear to carry the same souvenirs "gifts" though, but there were some good deals to be had if you looked. The kids discovered a nearby market. The sign read (open on Sunday and Wednesday). The market itself was no surprise with tat, hand bags, scarves, and men giving demos using cleaning products. It killed few hours. The one annoying side for us was that in the vicinity there were the infamous potato men. These are an aggressive set of sidewalk entertainers that carry with them a Rodney Trotter type. In order to elude them we simply crossed the road.

English Newspapers
Posted by spainlover on 7th July 2010, 04:59pm

Our resort hotel offered guests English newspapers and magazines for sale from a coin box next to reception. Nearby in the lobby, was an international cash machine.
Ricky and Charlene, our two teens, were delighted with the water play area (even though it was a little on the young side) and made use of the splash pads located next to the outdoor pool.
To round out the activity area in the resort were small theater, recreational bats and softballs, and ping-pong. With the weather in Benidorm, beaches are the major attraction and the resort itself didn't need much for the guests.

Rooms Had Plenty Of Wardrobe Space
Posted by spainlover on 28th June 2010, 02:46am

We had two tastefully decorated rooms adjoined offering the vacationer one large family area each with two single beds. Each of our rooms had plenty of wardrobe space, a writing desk, and some form of free TV.
We also found a sofa (the non-bed type) in each of the rooms. We didn’t need this though. There were wall mounted reading lamps above each bed. With the traditional weather in Benidorm the views were great even on a partially cloudy day.

Aboard Our Airplane
Posted by spainlover on 28th June 2010, 02:42am

Susan and I last stayed at a Benidorm Hopper Resort last Week. Our children Ricky and Charlene loved the location too. So that we would get the most economical holiday we went on line and compared similar holidays between two major UK vacation tour companies and decided on the independent self catering holiday.
We approached the runway in sparkling sunlight landing at the Alicante airport aboard our Easyjet airlines. Once at the arrival area our children ran ahead of us toward the clean looking ground transportation that would carry us to great weather in Benidorm. Our resort 1st floor rooms were reserved at one the many annex buildings. Our room was next to the pool area, minutes from reception.
